The Board
In Studenterlauget, the Board has the superior responsibility for the management of the student organisation. Hence, there are two main functions in the daily work of the board:
- First of all, the Board is responsible for the overall strategy of Studenterlauget. As it would be the case in any organization, the strategy is redefined each year to match the challenges that Studenterlauget is facing. The strategy is comprised of two main areas: adjusting the progress of existing business units as well as innovating and developing new ways for Studenterlauget to fulfill its vision of being the best student organisation in Denmark and to create the best campus in Denmark. In the definition of the strategy, the Board consults the daily management of Studenterlauget to secure that the strategy will be implemented, and that the main stakeholders agree with the Board’s decisions.
- Secondly, the Board has the overall responsibility of the financial situation of Studenterlauget. Consequently, the Board approves budgets and accounts during the financial year as well as more substantial investments.
The Board has 6 members, all students at Aarhus University, Business and Social Sciences. These members are all elected at the General Meeting. The members serve terms of one year at a time. The Board chooses a chairman and a vice-chairman. Besides the 6 members elected by the General Meeting, the Board has a 7th member representing the employees in Studenterlauget’s business units. This member is elected by the employees in order to secure that their points of view and opinions are taken into consideration.
